Manila cop helps woman deliver child at home

MANILA, Philippines — A Manila police officer assisted a pregnant woman in delivering her child at home on Sunday, the Manila Police District (MPD) said on Monday.

Police Corporal Burt Benson Abad, who is also a registered nurse, assisted the woman after her helper sought assistance from the Pandacan police station Sunday afternoon.

The mother and child were immediately transported to the Manila Doctors Hospital and are both in stable condition.

MPD District Director Brigadier General Leo Francisco lauded Abad’s prompt action and competence.
