Drug suspect arrested in Batangas
LUCENA CITY – Police arrested an armed drug suspect in Lemery town in Batangas province early Saturday, March 19.
The Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region police reported that suspect Alvin Palonpon was collared after he allegedly sold a pack of shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay (village) Ayao-Iyao around 3:45 a.m.
The police found one plastic sachet of meth from the suspect weighing five grams. The street value of the confiscated shabu was not specified in the report.
During the subsequent search, the suspect also reportedly yielded an illegal caliber .38 gun with four bullets.
The suspect was detained and will be charged for illegal possession of a firearm and violation of the election period gun ban.
Palonpon will also face a formal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
