Hot weather with localized thunderstorms expected on Saturday — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of the country can expect hot weather with possible localized thunderstorms on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.

Pagasa said that the northeasterly surface windflow and easterlies currently affect the country.

The northeasterly surface windflow will cause cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, will have fair and hot weather with possible rains due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

However, Pagasa said that the country is not expecting any weather disturbance in the next five days.

“Sa susunod naman na limang araw, wala po tayong inaasahan na bagyo na papasok ng ating Philippine Area of Responsibility,” weather specialist Benison Estareja said during the public weather forecast.

(In the next five days, we are not expecting any tropical cyclones to enter our Philippine Area of Responsibility.)

Because of the weak northeast monsoon, there is no gale warning raised in the country’s seaboards.

“Asahan natin nasa kalahati hanggang dalawa’t kalahating metro ang taas ng pag-alon sa may open sea ang iiral sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa,” Estareja said.

(In most parts of the country, 0.5 to 2.5 meters of wave height in the open sea will prevail.)
