MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police has identified eight suspects in the disappearances of at least 30 cockfighting enthusiasts, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año reported to President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday.

The PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is looking into the six cases involving 31 cockfighting enthusiasts who went missing after going into different cockpits—one in Manila, four in Laguna, and another one in Batangas.

Año said a special investigation task group saw patterns and similarities in the six cases and CIDG chief Brig. Gen. Eliseo Cruz said a witness implicated 14 people in the disappearances. —DEXTER CABALZA
