MANILA, Philippines — Expect generally fair weather throughout the country on Friday, with hot and humid conditions during the day and isolated rain showers in the afternoon and evening, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Sa bahagi ng Luzon kasama na ang Metro Manila, ay inaasahan po natin na sa kabuuan ay fair weather po tayo, maaliwalas ang panahon, mainit at maalinsangan lalong lalo na ‘yan sa tanghali,” said Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda.
(In part of Luzon including Metro Manila, we expect that we will have fair, clear weather, which will be hot and humid especially at noon.)
“Pagdating naman ng hapon maging sa gabi ay asahan natin ‘yung mga tiyansa ng pulo pulong pagulan at pag kidlat dulot ng localized thunderstorms,” she added.
(Meanwhile in the afternoon and even at night, we can expect isolated rain and lightning caused by localized thunderstorms.)
The same hot and humid weather conditions along with the possibility for isolated rain in the afternoon and evening is also expected over Visayas and Mindanao.
Castañeda then reminded the public to make sure to bring protection from the heat of the sun when going outdoors. Make it a habit to have a break from time to time, drink water, wear light colored clothes, and if possible, stay indoors.
Temperature range in key cities/areas according to Pagasa for Friday:
- Metro Manila: 25 to 34 degrees Celsius
- Baguio City: 16 to 25 degrees Celsius
- Laoag City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Tuguegarao: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Legazpi City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Puerto Princesa City: 16 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Tagaytay: 22 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Iloilo City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Cebu: 26 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Tacloban City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius
- Zamboanga City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Davao City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
No gale warning is currently raised as only slight to moderate sea conditions are expected over the surrounding seaboards and in-land seas of the country.
