MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested a high value drug personality during an anti-illegal drug operation in Cebu City, seizing P14.1 million worth of crystal meth or ‘shabu.’

In a report on Thursday, PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos identified the suspect as Mark Secretaria Duaban, 42 years old, who was identified as a high value individual in the PNP drug watch list.

Carlos said the suspect was arrested after agents of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 7 (RPDEU7) conducted a buy-bust operation at around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at Sitio Black Cats, Brgy. Duljo Fatima, Cebu City.

Arresting officers were able to confiscate 2,075 grams of ‘shabu’ estimated to be worth P14,110,000.

Carlos said Duaban is now currently under the custody of RPDEU7 for documentation and proper disposition, while the pieces of evidence were submitted to Regional Field Unit 7 for forensic examination.

Meanwhile, Carlos gave assurance that the PNP will remain stringent in its campaign against illegal drugs.

“Hindi titigil ang ating kapulisan sa pagtugis sa mga sindikato ng iligal na droga saang sulok man ng bansa sapagkat ito ang ating patuloy na isinusulong na kampanya kontra kriminalidad at tuluyang wakasan ang paglaganap ng pinagbabawal na gamot na sumira ng libong buhay at kinabukasan ng ating kababayan,” Carlos said.

(Our police will not stop in pursuing illegal drug syndicates in any corner of the country because this is our ongoing campaign against crime to finally end the spread of illicit drugs that have ruined thousands of lives and the future of our countrymen.)
