BACOLOD CITY — Manila Mayor and presidential candidate Isko Moreno will support the plan to build the Panay-Guimaras-Negros (PGN) bridges to boost economic activity in Western Visayas.
He will also support the restoration of the Negros Island Region (NIR) if the people want it, said Moreno in an ambush interview in Silay City on Wednesday, March 16.
“Bridges that connect islands of our country will bring more economic activity, so yes why not,” he said.
“For the meantime, I have to be fair. While I dream and aspire for bigger things, what is important to me if elected is how we will survive comfortably, economically speaking in the next two years.”
When the livelihoods of the people and the health sector capability are addressed in the next two years, “then we go to Mars, we aspire for better things,” Moreno said.
On the restoration of the NIR, Moreno said “if the people of Negros would support it or like it, then he will support it.
“The government needs to listen to the people. If people want it, 101 percent, I will support it as long as it will make you happy,” Moreno said.
