MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City is now at very low risk status for COVID-19 after averaging just 25 new COVID-19 cases in the last seven days, independent analytics group OCTA Research said Thursday.
“Quezon City has been averaging just 25 new COVID-19 cases per day over the past week from March 10 to 16, 2022. This is equivalent to an ADAR (average daily attack rate) of just 0.79 per 100,000 people per day, putting Quezon City in the very low risk category,” OCTA Research fellow Guido David said over Twitter.

David said the reproduction number in Quezon City “has been steady” at 0.23 while the one-week growth rate of cases was at -22 percent.
Reproduction number is the estimated number of new cases from one patient, while ADAR is the average number of new cases per day per 100,000 individuals in an area.
On average, the number of new COVID-19 cases in Quezon City is around 16 percent of new cases in Metro Manila, according to David.
“This projects to a 7-day average of around 154 cases in the NCR. This would mean that NCR remains at low risk although it should be very close to moving to very low risk once the ADAR decreases below 1,” he added, noting that ADAR in Metro Manila is currently at 1.09.
Based on the COVID-19 tracker of the Department of Health, Quezon City currently has 3,754 active COVID-19 cases, including 19 new cases recorded on Wednesday.
