TAGBILARAN CITY—Boholano drivers and residents felt the pain as the oil prices increased on Tuesday, March 15.
Motorists queued Monday evening in a gasoline station in this city, a few hours before the oil price hike was to take effect.
Junjun Mendoza, 37, who runs a carinderia along Dr. Cecilio Putong Street in Tagbilaran, patiently waited for his turn.
“I am hoping I could save because everything is expensive. I need to buy gas because it is very necessary,” said Mendoza, who had just paid P200 at a Petron station along CPG Avenue.
On Tuesday, gasoline prices increased to P75.10 from P68 per liter.
Diesel prices also rose to P76.65 from P63.50 per liter.
The prices were even higher in some towns.
Mendoza said he wanted the government to bring the oil prices down.
“We are all affected. Everyone is affected. We are feeling the pain now, ” he said.
