/ 11:36 AM March 13, 2022

Several senators on Monday tagged as "unconstitutional" a petition urging the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to postpone the 2022 polls.

MANILA, Philippines —President Rodrigo Duterte said that he cannot assure peaceful elections on May 9.

“I cannot guarantee you that it will be peaceful. There will be one or two or three,” Duterte said in an interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy on Sonshine Media Network International on Saturday,

“And even dito sa(here in) Mindanao. I mean, even the warring factions  diyan sa (in) Cotabato. Sinabi ko talaga sa kanila (I told them): “I will not allow terrorism sa (in the) election. I will not allow violence. Kampanya lang kayo (Just campaign),” he added.

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday said that he is proud of the country’s distinction as a “shining beacon” of gender equality and women empowerment across the globe.

The president warned that he will go to areas where violence is reported.

“Pero iyong mga magsabi mag-warlord-warlord, ah wala na talaga kasi pupuntahan ko talaga kayo. Maniwala kayo, pupuntahan ko kayo,” he said.

(I will go to areas ruled by so-called warlords. Believe me, I’ll go there.)
