LPA off Pacific Ocean changes track, now seen to enter PH after Christmas

MANILA, Philippines — Scattered rain showers are expected in the eastern Luzon due to the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported Sunday.

The Bicol region, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the said weather system.

The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have a fair weather condition with possible isolated rain due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, no weather disturbance is forecast to affect the country in the next few days.

“Samantala for the next three days, wala naman po tayong nakikitang namumuong sama ng panahon or LPA (low pressure area) na inaasahang makakaapekto sa alinmang bahagi ng ating bansa,” Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said during the public weather forecast.

(In the next three days, we do not see any brewing weather disturbance or LPA that will affect any part of the country.)

No gale warning is raised over the country’s seaboards but those who will set sail in the eastern and northern Luzon must be cautious.

“Malaya pong makakalayag ‘yung mga kababayan nating mangingisda o ‘yung may maliliit na sasakyang pandagat, pwede po silang pumalaot,” said Bulquerin.

(Fisherfolk and those with small vessels are free to venture at sea.)

“Ibayong pag-iingat lamang diyan sa may northern and eastern section ng Luzon dahil sa magiging moderate to rough ang ating sea conditions diyan,” he added.

(Sailors, however, must be cautious and watch out for moderate to rough sea conditions in the northern and eastern coasts of Luzon.)
