2 dead, 3 wounded in Maguindanao attack
CAMP SK PENDATUN, MAGUINDANAO––Two persons, including a 3-year-old boy, were killed, while three others were injured Wednesday in what police believed was an attack caused by a “rido” (clan feud) in Barangay Langkong, Matanog town here.
Capt. Fayeed Cana, speaking for the Maguindanao police, said Bro Lumbos, 43, and 3-year-old Raprap Esmail were killed when unidentified men positioned themselves on a grassy area not far from their house and shot them at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
A report from Matanog town police said Lumbos and Akmad Makaurao, 38, of Barangay Lalabuan, Balabagan town in Lanao del Sur, were loading sacks of corn into a vehicle, while Raprap Esmail and two children were playing nearby when the attackers came.
Three other persons were injured, including the two children, and were still in a hospital in nearby Parang, Maguindanao.
Police found more than 15 empty shells of M-16 Armalite and Carbine rifles near the crime scene.
“The motive of the attack is still being determined by the police but initially rido or family feud is being eyed as the cause of the attack,” Cana said.
