Only one opening ceremony for Cesafi

THE BRAND-NEW season of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) will just have one grand opening ceremony.

This was decided by Cesafi commissioner Felix “Boy” Tiukinhoy during a meeting with the different athletic directors of the participating schools yesterday at the University of San Jose-Recoletos campus.

The meeting was aimed at hashing out the nuances of the upcoming tournament, including the opening ceremonies.

The opening used to have one for the basketball tournament and another for the other events. But it was agreed upon by Tiukinhoy and the rest of the athletic directors that this will just have one, which is slated on Aug. 7 at the Cebu Coliseum.

“It will be more cost-effective that way,” said Tiukinhoy.
