MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) located west of Zamboanga City may bring rain over Southern Mindanao on Thursday while the shear line will affect parts of Luzon and Visayas, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
According to Pagasa senior weather specialist Obet Badrina, the LPA was last spotted 260 kilometers west of Zamboanga City. It also continues to have very low chances of turning into a storm.
“Mas malaki ‘yung tiyansa ng pagulan dito sa may Zamboanga Peninsula gayundin sa BARMM, Sulu, Tawi Tawi at Basilan dahil sa LPA,” said Badrina.
(There is a greater chance of rain here in the Zamboanga Peninsula as well as in BARMM, Sulu, Tawi Tawi and Basilan due to the LPA.)
Meanwhile, Badrina said the shear line will bring overcast skies and rain over parts of Luzon particularly in the Quezon Province, Bicol Region, Mimaropa and Palawan.
Eastern Visayas will likewise be affected by the said shear line, he added,
The rest of the country on the other hand, will experience relatively fairer weather conditions with chances of isolated light rain showers.
