LUCENA CITY — A woman motorcycle back-rider died in a road accident Monday in Tuy town in Batangas province.
Batangas police reported that a motorcycle driven by Ereneo Mendoza, 44, with his wife Elsa, 41, and daughter Christalyn, 10, as back-riders, was bumped at 9:45 p.m. from behind by a car driven by Leo Ryan Vergel in a section of the national highway in Barangay Tuyon-Tuyon.
The family members were thrown off the vehicle, landed on the pavement, and suffered injuries.
The victims were taken to Don Manuel Lopez Memorial District Hospital, but Elsa died on the way.
The police are conducting further investigation while Vergel remains under custody.
