MANILA, Philippines — The trough or extension of a low pressure area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao region on Saturday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa, in its forecast, warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rain in these areas.

“Itong LPA na ito ay hindi naman natin inaasahang magdedevelop into a tropical depression pero magdadala po ito ng kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at pagkidlat, pagkulog sa areas ng Visayas at Mindanao,” Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said.

(This LPA is not expected to develop into a tropical depression but it will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.)
