PH records 853 new COVID-19 cases, lowest so far this year

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines recorded 853 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the lowest daily tally so far this year.

According to the Department of Health’s (DOH) health bulletin on Friday, the country called 853 new cases, bringing the total number of infections to 3,665,747—of which 50,230 are active.

The DOH also recorded 1,062 new recoveries and 232 new deaths, bringing the recovery count and the death toll to 3,558,747 and 56,770 respectively.

“Pinapaalalahanan ang lahat na huwag maging kampante sa banta ng COVID-19. Bagkus, dapat natin  ipagpatuloy ang tamang pagsunod sa minimum public health standards at lagging magsuot ng facemask, mag physical distancing, at maghugas ng kamay,” the DOH said.

“Sa oras na makaramdam ng sintomas, agad na mag-isolate at magpatest. Tandaan ang right test at the right time. Agad rin na magpabakuna upang makakuha ng dagdag na proteksyon laban sa COVID-19,” it added.
