Calabarzon’s 5th most wanted felon nabbed for helmet violation

LUCENA CITY––A wanted felon for murder was arrested Thursday after being flagged for not wearing a crash helmet at a police checkpoint in Ibaan town, Batangas province.
Col. Glicerio Cansilao, Batangas police chief, said in a report that police accosted at 3:11 p.m. motorcycle rider Ronilo Gallego, 43, for not wearing a helmet while passing a checkpoint in Barangay Talaibon.
During a routine inspection, police found out that his driver’s license was fake.
Further investigation at the police station revealed that the rider has a standing warrant of arrest and is fifth on the list of wanted criminals in the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region.
Gallego is facing a murder case at the Regional Trial Court 6th Judicial Region, Branch 40 in Silay City since July 1, 2014, with no bail recommended.
