6 towns in Tarlac now COVID-free

A 1-day-old girl and two other persons had died of COVID-19 complications in Tarlac, the provincial government disclosed on Sunday, Feb. 6.MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––The COVID-free towns in Tarlac increased to six after one more locality registered zero active cases, the provincial government disclosed on Thursday, March 3.

San Clemente town’s lone COVID-19 case recovered from the viral disease on the said date. It joined Pura, Ramos, Anao, San Manuel, and Bamban towns, which were free of COVID-19.

Mayantoc was COVID-free for several days until it registered a single case on March 2.

The capital Tarlac City and the towns of Camiling and Moncada had only two active cases each as of Thursday.

Gerona has the most active cases at 10, followed by Victoria with nine and Capas, Concepcion, and Paniqui with six each.

The province has 55 active COVID-19 cases on Thursday. It registered three new cases, 23 recoveries, and no deaths on the same day.

Since the pandemic started in 2020, Tarlac has recorded 23,520 cases, of which 22,610 had recovered, while 853 had died. INQ
