ANGELES CITY––At least 478 male persons deprived of liberty (PDL) received Thursday, March 3, their booster shots against COVID-19 at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-run Angeles District Jail in this city.

On Feb. 25, the city government administered booster shots to 1,130 PDLs, mostly females in the same penal facility.

The one-day vaccination activities were part of the city government’s “Ronda Bakuna,” which deploys mobile bus clinics, ambulances, and medical teams to villages and other areas.

Those who received the booster shots were among the 1,300 male and female inmates inoculated against COVID-19 last year.

This city registered on Thursday a single new case, five recoveries, and zero deaths, bringing its total active cases to eight.

Since the pandemic started in 2020, this city has recorded 14,552 COVID-19 cases, of which 14,006 had recovered while 538 had died. INQ
