Pagasa: Potential LPA may form this weekend; fair Friday weather with possible rain showers
MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) may develop east of the Philippines this weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Friday.
“Base sa tropical cyclone threat potential forecast ng Pagasa, gayundin sa pinapakita ng ibang models, possible po na may mabuong isang LPA this weekend somewhere dito sa may Philippine boundary,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said.
Estareja said the LPA has a low chance to become a tropical cyclone but it will cross the Philippine Sea and near the Visayas and Mindanao.
“Sa ating mga kababayan po doon, mag-ingat sa mga pag-ulan, light to moderate with at times heavy rains, simula this weekend until early next week. Mag-ingat po sa posibleng pagbaha at landslides at mag-antabay sa updates ng Pagasa,” he added.
