MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila registered 205 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, a fellow of independent analytics group OCTA Research said.

Citing data from the Department of Health (DOH), Dr. Guido David said that 205 or 20.7 percent of the 989 fresh infections recently recorded nationwide were from the capital region.

In a Twitter post, David showed the breakdown of new COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila:

The independent pandemic monitor earlier projected that cases in the country will drop to around 500 by mid-March.

The fresh cases logged Thursday was the second consecutive day that the country recorded a single-day tally of less than 1,000.
