A SON of a bodyguard of Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes was shot dead in barangay Bali-Bali, Compostela town, northern Cebu.
Michael Castro, 20, was outside his house when mask-wearing assailants shot him several times last Saturday night.
Castro died on the spot die to gunshot wounds in the body and head. Police said the assailants fled on foot.
The victim’s father Glen Bucabuca told police that his son was a member of the Crips gang.
Bucabuca was out on bail. Castro was charged for frustrated murder for allegedly stabbing and mauling a man last year.
The father said his son survived a shooting attack in 2007 where he was shot in the leg. The incident will be investigated further./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
