IRANIAN KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT
A 47-YEAR-OLD Iranian national died after the motorcycle he rode on hit a truck in barangay Logo, Borbon town, northern Cebu, last Saturday afternoon.
Police identified the fatality as Lahimche Ali, who was married to a Filipino.
Police said witnesses recounted that Ali was driving in high speed when he lost control of the motorcycle in a curved portion of road.
Police said the motorcycle with plate number ZG-9890 swerved to the other lane and collided with a six-wheeler truck driven by Ricardo Villamero, of barangay Casuntingan, Mandaue City.
Police rushed Ali to the Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital in Sogod town where attending doctors declared him dead.

A 34-YEAR-OLD man was arrested by police in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Prensa, Balamban town, Cebu.
Ronnie Canseco allegedly sold a small pack of suspected shabu to a policeman who posed as a buyer.
The transaction happened outside Canseco’s house at 8:50 p.m. last Saturday, said police
Police said seized from Canseco’s possession were four small packs of suspected shabu and a .357 revolver with six live bullets.
SPO1 Julius Obaña of the Balamban police station said Canseco was considered as a level two drug pusher.
Canseco was placed under surveillance for at least six months before the arrest, said police.
Canseco told police that he brought a firearm to protect himself against some rivals in the illegal drug activity.
Police said Canseco admitted that he had been involved in selling drugs for more than a year.
Charges for possession and selling oillegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms will be filed against Canseco, said police./CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
WIDOWER FOUND HANGING DEAD
A 58-YEAR-OLD widower was found hanging by the neck in his house in barangay Mambaling, Cebu City last Saturday night.
Rito Alega was found suspended from a wall with a shoelace and a piece of cloth connected to each other tied around his neck.
It was Alega’s 48-year-old brother-in-law, Rocky Antopina, who discovered the suicide around 8 p.m.
Alega was already dead when members of the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) arrived.
Police said the man had no external injuries that would indicate foul play in his death.
The victim’s brother, Felix, 59, told police that Rito threatened to kill himself when he arrived from Manila last October.
