Delos Santos logs another win

Philippine team member Mary Grace delos Santos and Kenyan Josphat Too dominated the fund-raising running event of the University of San Carlos (USC) Mechanical engineering department dubbed “Lahutay Run” at The Terraces of the Ayala Center Cebu yesterday.

Delos Santos, the reigning National Milo Marathon queen, dominated the 12-kilometer category of the running event by clocking 50 minutes and 35 seconds.

Too, on the other hand, clocked 40 minutes and three seconds to win the 12k men’s crown.

Kenyans actually dominated the 12k category as the top three places were occupied by Too’s countrymen. Finishing in second was Francis Kakui while Douglas Mwiti settled for third.

In the distaff side, Christy Tutor claimed second place with a time of 52 minutes and 16 seconds while University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F) runner Joeyry Lee rounded off the top three with a time of 52 minutes and 46 seconds.

Meanwhile, the Andrin siblings showcased their full potential as the region’s next stars in running as Lovely Fe and Jhean Andrin shared the first two places in the 6k category.

Lovely Fe topped the category with a time of 24 minutes and 27 seconds while Jhean finished off second, clocking 25 minutes and 22 seconds.

Kenyan Abraham Missous ruled the 6k men’s category (20:00)

USPF’s Aiza Suaybaguio and Joebert Carolino finished first place in the 3k category.

The running event  was meant to help Cebu’s entry to the Malaysia Shell Eco Marathon in July, which will be represented by USC’s Team El-Krudo.
