MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau said on Wednesday afternoon that the eastern portion of the Philippines will have overcast skies and rain in the next 24 hours due to the easterlies.

In its latest forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said easterlies will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas and the regions of Caraga and Davao.

It warned that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rain.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms brought about by easterlies or localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
