Pagasa: Easterlies causing warm weather in eastern portion of PH

MANILA, Philippines — The eastern section of the country is currently having slightly warm weather due to the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday.

According to Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio, the effects of the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, are being felt in Metro Manila and in other parts of the country.

(At present, we are experiencing slightly warm weather not just here in Metro Manila but also in different areas of the country. This is because of the easterlies affecting the eastern section of the country.)

Aside from slightly warm weather, Luzon will also experience a fair weather condition, according to Aurelio.

Meanwhile, Eastern Visayas and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms still due to the easterlies.

(In the rest of Visayas and Mindanao, we will have fair weather except for localized thunderstorms that will bring a sudden downpour of rain.)

Aurelio said Pagasa is currently not monitoring a low pressure area within or outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
