MANILA, Philippines — This early, the government must make an evacuation plan for more than 150,000 Filipinos living and working in Taiwan, in case China take actions similar to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said on Tuesday.

The Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer shared his “major concern” with reporters as he prepared to campaign in Malabon City, noting the logistical difficulty of repatriating such a large number of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Taiwan.

“While DFA [Department of Foreign Affairs] is performing its obligation to our people in Ukraine, we should make a plan and prepare for what could possibly happen in the Taiwan Strait,” he said.
