4 Ilocos Norte towns now free of COVID-19
LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte—At least four towns in Ilocos Norte reported zero active COVID-19 cases as the province transitioned to the most lenient Alert Level 1 beginning March 1, data from the provincial government showed.
In its Feb. 28 case bulletin, the provincial government said Adams, Carasi, Dumalneg, and Sarrat towns have zero active COVID-19 cases.
The province has 451 active cases and at least 23 of them were admitted to COVID-19 health facilities, the local government said.
Data also showed that Pasuquin and Piddig towns registered the highest number of active cases with 63 each, the same data showed.
COVID-19 cases in the province had shown signs of slowing down, with an average daily attack rate of 2.96 per 100,000 population, according to data from the Department of Health.
Since the pandemic struck last year, the province recorded at least 24,718 COVID-19 cases.
