Aurora’s COVID-19 cases drop to 7

The active COVID-19 cases in Aurora province dropped below 20 on Wednesday (Feb. 9) as recoveries continued to surpass the number of new cases in the past several days.

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Aurora’s active COVID-19 cases fell to seven, the lowest this year, the provincial emergency operations center disclosed on Sunday, Feb. 27.

The coastal province registered zero new cases, four recoveries, and no deaths on that date.

On Feb. 18, during its 43rd founding anniversary, Aurora had nine active cases, but that number doubled after a few days.

Five of the province’s eight towns are free of COVID-19. These include Casiguran, Dilasag, Dinalungan, Dingalan, and San Luis.

The three towns with active cases are Dipaculao (4), Maria Aurora (2), and Baler (1).

All patients are under quarantine due to mild symptoms.

Since the pandemic began in 2020, Aurora has recorded 4,202 COVID-19 cases, of which 3,950 had recovered while 245 had died.
