MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines has recognized the COVID-19 national vaccination certificates of Romania and the British Virgin Islands.

The recognization was made following the approval of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases on Thursday, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said on Thursday.

The acceptance of the vaccination certificates is “for purposes of arrival quarantine protocols, as well as for interzonal/intrazonal movement.”

Concerned agencies are ordered to acknowledge the vaccination proof of the countries that have been approved so far.

“The IATF directed the Bureau of Quarantine, the Department of Transportation – One-Stop-Shop, and the Bureau of Immigration to recognize only the proofs of vaccination thus approved by the IATF,” said Nograles, also the task force’s co-chair.

Currently, the Philippines honors the vaccination certificate of at least 60 countries.
