Urban poor group to remember Edsa people power in streets of Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY — Members of the Federation of Urban Poor ( FedUp) will celebrate the 36th EDSA People Power anniversary with a walk from the Goldenfield Commercial Complex to the monument of Ninoy Aquino at Araneta Street in Bacolod City, on Friday, February 25.

The event’s theme is “People Power is Vote Power,” said FedUp provincial head Joy Jarabelo.

“FedUp’s EDSA celebration is a continuing protest  against the revisionism of our history and the Marcoses’ attempt to erase this historical event in our country,” she said.

“We will continue to show the world that we were once proud of our country when we were able to drive away a dictator without any bloodshed or non violently,” she added.

Jarabelo said they are calling on freedom and good governance loving Filipinos to join them on Friday.
