SGG boxing today at Cebu Coliseum

WENG Haya of Mandaue City weighed in at 127.5 lbs while his opponent Jose Ocampo of Sarangani tipped the scales at 129 lbs for their interim WBO Asia-Pacific junior lightweight title fight today at the Cebu Coliseum.

Meanwhile, defending Philippine lightweight champion Jay Solmiano lost his crown even before he could climb the ring when he weighed in at 136.25 lbs which is more than one pound above the 135-lb weight limit. Solmiano also failed to lose the excess poundage despite several tries.

His challenger, Rey Labao weighed 132.5 lbs.

The 135 lb division Philippine title will be vacant if Solmiano wins but Labao will annex the title if he prevails today.

FEATURED STORIES

The fight card will be offered free to the public for the lower and upper box seats as a form of thanksgiving for the success and safe return of Team casimero from Argentina.

Also set to tangle in the undercards are Ciso Morales who will fight Joash Apericio and Virgilio Silvano who will battle Roque Lauro. There will be four more undercard bouts. Fights start at 530 p.m. /Correspondent Rene Bonsubre Jr.
