OLONGAPO CITY––The local government officially launched Monday the vaccination for children 5 to 11 years old, prioritizing those with comorbidities.
One hundred children in this age group were eyed for inoculation during the three-day mass vaccination. Healthcare workers welcomed the kids at a party-themed site.
The government-run James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital serves as the venue for the pediatric vaccination of children with comorbidities.
The City Health Office said no walk-ins would be allowed at the vaccination site, requiring parents to register their children online.
Officials said another vaccination would be held at SMX Convention of SM City Olongapo Central, catering to children in the 5-11 age group but have no comorbidities.
So far, the city has fully vaccinated 172,314 residents out of its target of 182,000 to achieve herd immunity. The city has a 260,000-population based on the 2020 census. INQ
