MANILA, Philippines — Comedian Joven Olvido, who shot to fame after his viral ‘vape trick’ performance at the Pilipinas Got Talent contest, has been arrested again for involvement in the illegal drug trade, local police said.

This was confirmed by the Sta. Cruz Police Station in Laguna, which conducted the buy-bust operation that led to Olvido’s arrest.

Information from the said police station said that Olvido, who is still under their custody, was arrested in Sta. Cruz’ Barangay Duhat on Friday, after he tried to sell suspected shabu to undercover anti-narcotics officers.

Police managed to seize five sachets of shabu weighing around 12.5 grams from Olvido, which is estimated to be worth P85,000.  The P500 bill used as marked money was also recovered.

Olvido, who made several television and movie appearances after joining ABS-CBN’s talent search program, was already arrested for another drug-related case in May 2021.  Seized from the comedian back then was three small sachets of shabu and the marked money worth P2,000.
