Aurora province, Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, Alert Level 2
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Aurora implemented on Wednesday, Feb. 16, more lenient entry rules after the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases downgraded the status of the coastal province to Alert Level 2 until Feb. 28.
Gov. Gerardo Noveras issued Tuesday Executive Order No. 2022-0005, requiring visitors and returning residents to present only vaccination certificates or cards and government-issued identification cards before they are allowed entry into the province.
Previously, the provincial government required the presentation of negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test results from everyone who wants to enter Aurora for personal, business, or recreation purposes.
“The LGU (local government unit) of destination is given the discretion to prescribe additional requirements as it may deem necessary,” the governor added in his order.
Noveras also recalled the provincial health and provincial disaster risk and reduction management personnel assigned to entry points in Maria Aurora, Dingalan, and Dipaculao towns and allowed the local police to regulate the entry and exits of people into the province.
“The Philippine National Police – Aurora Provincial Police Office is hereby given the mandate to implement entry and exit protocols at the provincial control points. As such, they shall conduct due diligence in checking the authenticity of travel documents and in establishing the true identity of all travelers,” he stated in his order.
On Tuesday, the provincial government registered three new COVID-19 cases, three recoveries, and zero deaths. The active cases stood at 13.
Since the pandemic started in 2020, Aurora has recorded 4,181 COVID-19 cases, of which 3,925 had recovered, while 243 had died.
