LPA off Mindanao gone, fair weather seen in most parts of PH — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area (LPA)  off Mindanao has completely dissipated, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.

“Kahapon mayroon tayong namataan na low pressure area ngunit tuluyan na po itong nalusaw,” said Aldczar Aurelio, weather specialist of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

 (Yesterday, we monitored a low pressure area but it has completely dissipated.)

 The LPA outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility was last spotted 1,500 kilometers east of Mindanao.

The trough of the said LPA brought overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to many parts of Mindanao.

Many areas nationwide are expected to have fair weather, according to Aurelio.

“Kasalukuyan, maganda ang nararanasan nating panahon sa malaking bahagi ng bansa,” Aurelio added.

(Most parts of the country will experience fair weather.)

Aurora and the northern portion of Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line or the tail end of a cold front.

The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring cloudy skies with light rains to Cagayan Valley.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience a fair weather condition with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, according to Pagasa.

Meanwhile, Pagasa raised gale warning over Batanes, Cagayan, Babuyan Islands, the northern coast of Cagayan and Ilocos Norte, which will experience rough sea conditions with 2.8 to 4.0 meters of waves due to strong winds caused by the northeast monsoon.
