BACOLOD CITY — Negros Occidental and Bacolod City have kicked off the mass vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 on Monday, February 14.
There were 15,000 doses Pfizer- BioNTech vaccines that arrived in Negros Occidental and 10,000 in Bacolod City for the pediatric vaccination campaign.
Negros Occidental will kick off the drive at the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City at rites attended by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, Silay Mayor Mark Golez and provincial consultant Albee Benitez.
In Bacolod City, the vaccination of children is held at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital and Riverside Medical Center, where they aim to vaccinate 100 children at each site for a total of 300.
Em Ang, Emergency Operations Center executive director, said parents must bring photocopies of their identification cards and of the birth certificates of their children up for vaccination.
A guardian accompanying a minor must bring an authorization letter signed by the parent of the child, she said.
