BACOLOD CITY — The Philippine Genome Center has reported 21 new confirmed COVID-19 Omicron cases in this city.
However, all of them have already recovered, said Dr. Chris Sorongon, Bacolod Emergency Operations Center deputy.
Hit by the Omicron variant were 11 males and 10 females between 23 to 50 years old.
“They were swabbed for testing from January 5 to 18,” Sorongon said.
The Omicron variant hit six residents in Barangay Villamonte and two in Barangay Estefania.
Barangays 40, 7, 35, 19, 20, 30, Alijis, Taculing, Mandalagan, Singcang, Granada, Tangub and Banago had one case each, Sorongon said.
There were also 21 Omicron cases detected in Bacolod City in late January 2022.
