LUCENA CITY––Four persons were arrested and yielded shabu (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm in separate buy-bust operations Sunday and Monday in Lemery and San Luis towns in Batangas province, police said.
The Calabarzon police said in a report that anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested Ian Opeña and Mark Noel Dakunawa in a sting operation at 1:15 a.m. Monday in Barangay Palanas, Lemery.
The police seized from the suspects two sachets of shabu weighing five grams and a caliber .38 gun with three bullets inside a sling bag.
In San Luis, the police busted Adrian Bonsol and Wilfredo Cortez in another operation at 3:22 p.m. Sunday in Barangay Muzon.
Authorities seized six sachets of shabu weighing 7.3 grams and a Toyota Corolla used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.
The four suspects were detained and faced charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Opeña and Dakunawa faced charges for violating gun laws and election gun ban.
