PNP reports decline in active COVID-19 cases among personnel

MANILA, Philippines – The number of police personnel with active COVID-19 infections decreased to 258, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Monday.

This is a decline from the 265 active cases the PNP reported on Sunday.

The PNP Health Service on Monday reported 10 additional cases of COVID-19 among police officers. However, the number of active infections dropped to 258.

This, as the national police force documented 17 new recoveries, adding to the 48,353 PNP personnel who have recovered from COVID-19.

So far, the PNP has recorded a total of 48,739 cases since the pandemic began in 2020.

The PNP did not report any new COVID-related deaths, putting the overall number of coronavirus fatalities at 128. —Jericho Zafra, Inquirer.net trainee
