Trader slain inside store in Northern Samar town

CATARMAN, Northern Samar — A businessman was shot dead Friday inside his store in Catubig town, Northern Samar.

Captain Noel Unay, Catubig police chief, identified the victim as Zosimo Rodriguez of Barangay San Jose.

The investigation showed that the victim was shot at 12:20 p.m. in the head by a still-unidentified assailant while tending to his store in Barangay 6 Poblacion.

Responding police found the victim’s body at the entrance of his store.

Police investigators were conducting a hot pursuit operation to arrest the lone gunman, who fled aboard a motorcycle.
