MANILA, Philippines — There is “no doubt” that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will be “a good vice president,” House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco said Friday.
Velasco compared Duterte-Carpio, who is vying for vice president in the May 9 polls, to a Philippine eagle that symbolizes courage and compassion.
“Mayor Inday Sara possesses a clear vision, is courageous, has integrity, honesty, humility, compassion and clear focus. There is no doubt she will be a good vice president,” Velasco said in Cabanatuan City.
Velasco, a known close ally of Duterte-Carpio, is running unopposed as representative of the lone district of Marinduque province.
The PDP-Laban party wing, which Velasco is a member of, has adopted Duterte-Carpio as its vice presidential candidate.
