2 kids killed in Red ambush in Northern Samar

Two minors were killed while another civilian was injured when they were caught in an ambush by communist rebels on a group of Army soldiers on Tuesday in Northern Samar. Eighth Infantry Division spokesperson Capt. Ryan Layug said on Thursday that the New People’s Army carried out the ambush on the soldiers in Barangay Roxas, Catubig town, in Northern Samar despite the presence of civilians. Layug pointed out that the ambush resulted in the death of two boys, aged 12 and 13, and the injury of a 26-year-old civilian. —JEANNETTE I. ANDRADE
