MANILA, Philippines — Presidential and vice-presidential candidates Panfilo Lacson and Vicente Sotto III have started their 2022 campaign launch with a Mass at the Imus Cathedral in Cavite.
The Mass which they attended with their respective families would be followed by their proclamation event at the Imus Grandstand.
The tandem’s national election campaign will be mounted on “grassroots consultations with ordinary folks mostly in underprivileged areas in order to have a firsthand account of the most common and ordinary problems and issues confronting our people.” The veteran senators are promising to “fix” the government to uplift the lives of the Filipino people.
February 8 marks the beginning of the official campaign period for national candidates in the May 2022 elections.
“We know from experience that the number one problem of this country is the government and the solution lies in the face of the problem itself – government,” Lacson said in a message to reporters on Tuesday morning.
“We need to seriously and genuinely fix government through honest to goodness leadership by example. I already did this and there is no reason why I cannot do it again,” he added.
