2 riders dead in motorcycle-van collision in Quezon

LUCENA CITY––Two motorcycle riders died Monday after an armored van hit their vehicle in Candelaria town in Quezon province.

Quezon police, in a report, said the motorcycle driven by Pofer Benitez and Robert Buan, as back-rider, was bumped at 1:42 p.m. by an armored van driven by Crisanto Ella in Barangay Sta. Catalina Sur.

Both riders died instantly due to grave injuries.

The report did not state if the fatalities were wearing crash helmets.

The report said the van occupied the opposite lane that led to the accident.

The police are conducting further investigation.
