Aurora’s COVID-19 cases down by 70 percent after a week
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Active COVID-19 cases in Aurora went down by 70 percent in just a week, data from the provincial emergency operations center showed on Saturday, Feb. 4.
From 109 patients on Jan. 29, the number is now down to only 36 cases on Saturday. Some 115 recoveries and only 48 new cases were registered within the last seven days.
On Saturday, the coastal province recorded zero new cases, five recoveries and no deaths.
Aurora towns Casiguran, Dilasag and San Luis are now free of COVID-19.
Maria Aurora town has the most active cases at 23, followed by the capital town of Baler with 10, and the Dinalungan, Dingalan and Dipaculao with a single case each.
Article continues after this advertisementSince the pandemic broke out in 2020, the province has recorded a total of 4,131 COVID-19 cases of which 3,854 have recovered while 241 had died.
Aurora is under Alert Level 3 until Feb. 15.
