MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — The active COVID-19 cases in Angeles City dropped to 362 on Thursday, Feb. 3, from 502 the previous day, data from the city government showed.
The highly urbanized city registered nine new cases, 147 recoveries, and two deaths related to the viral disease. The fatalities were residents of Malabanias and Pulung Maragul villages.
Most of those who recovered from COVID-19 are from Balibago (22), Sto. Domingo (18) and Cutcut (14) villages.
As of Thursday, Cutcut still had the most active cases at 37, followed by Sto. Domingo and Sto. Cristo with 28 each, and Balibago with 25.
The number of active cases continued to go down in the past several days as recoveries exceeded the number of new patients.
Data also showed that the city had recorded 14,308 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in 2020. Of these, 13,417 had recovered while 529 had died.
The city government continues to hold its on-site and off-site inoculation campaign in its bid to immunize as many residents as possible against the viral disease.
