MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Vice President Leni Robredo turned over some 500 rapid antigen test kits to the Angeles City government during her visit on Thursday to city hall.
The test kits are for the city government’s frontliners and health workers.
In a statement, Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said the antigen kits from the vice president were “a big help” for the city’s campaign against COVID-19.
He said health workers of the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (formerly Ospital Ning Angeles) undergo free antigen tests regularly to ensure their safety and the safety of hospital patients.
Early last month, Robredo rolled out a “swab cab” mobile COVID-19 testing program in partnership with different local government units in the National Capital Region and other parts of the country.
The Office of the Vice President said: “VP Leni is advocating for free antigen testing to identify confirmed cases faster and mitigate the spread of coronavirus.”
