OLONGAPO CITY — The COVID-19 risk level of this city was downgraded to moderate, as its virus growth rate indicators were going down, independent research group OCTA said Thursday, Feb. 3.
Citing data from the Department of Health, OCTA said the average daily attack rate (Adar) in this city was 8.91 per 100,000 population, considered moderate risk. Adar is the number of individuals found infected for every 100,000 people.
Data also showed that the virus growth rate in the city was at negative 56 percent, indicating a downward trend.
Despite this, the city has posted a 15-percent positivity rate, which is still high based on existing risk indicators.
Last week, Olongapo was on the list of highly urbanized cities outside the National Capital Region with high growth of COVID-19 infection. The city’s Adar was 22.71, which was considered high.
As of Wednesday, Olongapo’s active COVID-19 cases dropped to 307 from 347 the previous day.
